A+A+A is working with the Staten Island Urban Center, the Urban Design Forum and the Association for Neighborhood & Housing Development (ADNH) to design and implement an Afro-Caribbean and Latin Market at Tompkinsville Park in Staten Island’s North Shore. The studio has conducted community engagement sessions with local organizations, small business owners and youth groups. The engagements have taken place both in person and online through mediation tools including online surveys and round table conversations as well as programming workshops and a scavenger hunt. The ideas, conversations and feedback heard and gathered in these engagements are being actively applied to the design of the market. The market is expected to open on September 2024.
